Re: 9-17-2010 Sweetwater vs Early
well i can only give as much info that a lineman would know
but there big weapons are:
#78 he is 6' 5" 300 and something pounds-nose guard
and they have two star linebackers supposedly "unblockable"
they run a 50 base defense witch meens the guards are
going to be the main ones to block those backers, so i will step
up to this "unblockable" challenge
as far as there offense goes i know that they will be mostly
running trap, counter, and toss.
they have a pretty tricky running back #2
we just need to step up like we have been and all sweetwater fans
get read for another "W"

Re: 9-17-2010 Sweetwater vs Early
Early is mainly a run team and they give the ball to #2 a ton. He's already fumbled 5 times this year so if we can take advantage of their mistakes and not make any ourselves we'll do great. Their main pass play is boot pass with a tight-end dragging across. If the linebackers pick-up the back out and the safety gets the tight-end we'll stop that quick. Their secondary has given up some big plays but they fired that safety and have a newer one in so we should take advantage of that. Practice has been great this week, uptempo. If we carry it out through the game the Early Longhorns don't have a chance.

Re: 9-17-2010 Sweetwater vs Early
well it wasn't a pretty game but we grinded it out and came through with a "W" Little bit to close for my liking though. We're a better team than what we played like on Friday night. Luckily we showed up when we needed to. W've all gotta buckle down and get ready for Midland Greenwood. They went 6-4 last year. theyve got a new quaterback.
MaxPreps says:
QB/FS Hatley (52-198, 1 TD rushing and 8-2-162-4, 2 TDs passing) will take over as the starter under center. TB/LB Madrid (43-363, 5 TDs and 56 tackles, 2 INTs), FB/LB Barton (51-259, 2 TDs and 74 tackles) and WB/DB Lara (24 tackles) are key returning starters.
It's our homecoming boys. theyre NOT taking that fromm us. not like last year.

EARLY — Sweetwater is officially on a winning roll for the first time in two years after a 12-7 victory over Early on Friday.
But as the score suggests, it wasn’t an easy chore for the Mustangs (3-1), who held on for their second straight win thanks to second-half defensive heroics.
Sweetwater survived even though Early enjoyed great field position all night because of several Mustang miscues. All the Longhorns could muster out of it, though, was a single score right before halftime.
Early began its first two fourth-quarter drives at the 32 and 31 of Sweetwater only to be denied, and its last drive ended with Cam-eron Fox’s interception that allowed the Mustangs — who dominated the game statistically with a 2 1/2-to-1 edge in total yards — to run out the clock.
All of Sweetwater’s points, as well as Early’s, came in the second quarter.
Sweetwater drove 68 yards in nine plays to go up 6-0 on a 1-yard run by QB Taylor Jones, then scored on Jones’ 7-yard pass to Malcolm Black which came with just 24.8 seconds left before halftime and capped a 14-play, 86-yard drive.
But the momentum shif-ted quickly on the kickoff as Early’s Will Fisher ran 81 yards before he was finally brought down at Sweetwa-ter’s 10. After a 5-yard penalty, Early’s Colby Adams made it 12-7 after catching a backside screen pass from quarterback Hunter Hall with 1.9 seconds remaining.
The Mustangs’ second blocked punt attempt of the game, which came in the third quarter, allowed Early to start from Sweetwater’s 20-yard line. But Early went nowhere thanks to a fumble, sack and fourth-down incompletion.
Sweetwater was able to get to the Longhorn 37 on its next series, thanks pri-marily to a 27-yard run by Jones, before being held on downs. The defense quickly sacked Hall and forced a punt, but mishandled it and Early recovered the ball at Sweetwater’s 32 to end the third quarter. The Long-horns got to the 19, only to see the Mustang defense rise up again as a fourth-down play was stopped for no gain.
Sweetwater later got off a punt, but it went just five yards as Early began from the Mustang 31. However, that series ended with Sean Morrow intercepting Hall’s fourth down pass at the 30.
“The defense tonight was awesome,” Sweetwater coach Craig Slaughter said after the game. “And our offense, except for not putting up many points, moved the ball well.
“But our field position was unbelievably bad and due to special teams problems we struggled. But I’d rather take a tough win than a tough loss.
“We had some momen-tum and had a chance to put the game away, but their touchdown before halftime was huge. We’re still learning how to close that window. Eventually you’ve just got to execute.”
The Sweetwater defense also ended a first-quarter Early threat at its 23 when Max Zetzman forced a Longhorn fumble that was recovered by Kevin Sepeda. That “drive” was a result of the first blocked punt.
Sweetwater will celebrate its homecoming this Friday, when the Mustangs host Midland Greenwood.

Came across a gallery on the Early game. a little late, but I thought you guys might like them.
All of these are from Thomas Metthe / Abilene-Reporter-News
PLEASE go to the gallery and rate the pictures or the gallery if you can.
You can see larger versions in his album
This guy takes some great pictures and covers games pretty biased from both sides of the ball, and I am personally a huge huge fan of his work it would be a big favor for you to go rate his Gallery
