Glad you got the win tonight guys.
Tanner. hope you get some good news soon. Proud of you guys for hanging in there, and not getting down after the big plays for points Vernon got away with. Don't settle. there is still work to be done. (Monahans beat snyder by a point!) Pics and vid to come stay tuned!

VERNON — What a difference a win can make.
After just one game, Sweetwater has matched its victory total for 2009 after a 27-13 triumph on Friday at Vernon.
The Mustangs, just 1-9 a year ago, also ended a three-game losing streak to the Lions dating back to 2003 as they led from start to finish. And for head coach Craig Slaughter, whose team had 416 total yards of offense and got key contributions from several players, it was just the kind of start he had hoped for.
“It was a great team effort,” he said. “I thought that our kids played really good and a lot of them really contributed. It was a back and forth game, but we made the plays we had to.”
Sweetwater failed to score on its opening series after getting to Vernon’s 20, but then struck paydirt following an interception by Ryan Linebaugh, which was the first of four turnovers caused by the defense.
The Mustangs were facing fourth-and-long from Vernon’s 15 when quarterback Taylor Jones connected with Tanner Crain for six points with 2:46 left in the opening period.
It was the start of a great night for Jones, who would later rush for a pair of touchdowns and finish with a team-high 130 yards, his first 100-yard rushing game as a Mustang, in addition to 78 yards passing.
“T.J. has the ability to make those kind of (running) plays,” Slaughter said. “It was something that definitely worked out for us.”
Another turnover that followed a great punt by Rance Stone also led to Sweetwater’s second touchdown of the night. Vernon was pinned at its 1 and on first down, the Lions fum-bled it away with Cameron Fox recovering the loose ball for Sweetwater.
The Mustangs got new life on fourth down following an incompletion when Vernon was flagged for being offside, and Jones capped the scoring drive by sneaking over from the 1. Gabriel Medellin’s second extra point made it 14-0 with 9:25 left until halftime.
Sweetwater came up with its third turnover of the first half on an interception by Sean Morrow, and the defense again preserved the team’s two-touchdown lead by stopping another Vernon drive to end the half.
But Vernon came up with an interception of its own to end Sweetwater’s first pos-session of the third quarter, and it led to a 69-yard run by Devin Butler to cut the Mustang lead to 14-7.
However, Sweetwater re-sponded with a third scor-ing drive that was keyed by a first-down Jones run to Vernon’s 24. A fourth-down run by Josh Gomez kept the chains moving, and B.J. Walker’s 9-yard run pushed Sweetwater’s lead back to a more comfortable 20-7 with 61 seconds left in the third quarter.
Vernon — and Butler — refused to go away, as the talented sophomore took the ensuing kickoff back 78 yards for the Lions’ final TD. The kick failed, leaving the score at 20-13. But Sweetwater again answered. A 41-yard halfback option pass from Walker to Fox got the Mustang back in scoring range and Jones again got the honors on a 21-yard run with 10:22 remaining in the contest.
Mateo Gonzales recovered a fumble to end another series by the Lions, and Sweetwater then ran off much of the remaining time with a ball-control drive that left Vernon little time to catch up.
Sweetwater is back on the road this Friday when it goes to Monahans, which beat Snyder 43-42 to begin its season. The Loboes jumped out to a 22-0 lead and held off Snyder’s late rally despite giving up 440 yards to the Tigers. The Mustangs play their home opener Sept. 10 when they face Levelland

As I have said before. if you didn't get pictures you have noone to blame but yourself. it's not hard to post here. there's a little button at the bottom that says "post reply" and it's on every page. you can go to smack talk or introduce yourself or whatever. I have something for everybody. if you want another thread let me know and I can get it put up for you.

Your camera is making me angry, so I guess we are even. screwing up my whole process There is no HD with the whole process. and it takes forever for a normal quality version, and the one I did save left a stupid full screen letterbox. can't take it I'm uploading that one and messing with the rest later. Think I went about it all wrong. probably should have converted them or just completely transferred them and went from there. stupid technology, and it's ever-changing self
Camera
Haha....I am sorry! Does that mean you don't want my view from the stands anymore for Varsity? LOL

Yeah the people saying I should have left their big play in it for their team crack me up.
I like to go back and look at the thumbs down marks that sore losers leave
