San Angelo Lakeview Scrimmage 08-20-2010
The scrimmage was ok! We thought that we were lacking a bit in the beginning, but as it went on, we looked a LOT better. I will try to get a video posted soon!!

SAN ANGELO — After a rough opening scrimmage against Lubbock Cooper six days earlier, Sweetwater looked like a different foot-ball team — especially on offense — in Friday’s final preseason tussle with Class 4A San Angelo Lake View.
And the defense, while bending, broke only once and that came on the third play of the scrimmage when the Chiefs scored on a 63-yard run.
As for the offense?
Quarterback Taylor Jones had his passes on target all night, completing 10 of 14 for 130 yards and found nine different receivers to complete passes to. He also led a 10-play, 80-yard scoring drive, Sweetwater’s only one of the scrimmage by the first unit, that was capped by B.J. Walker’s 5-yard run.
The second unit also got to the end zone Friday, on Andrew Leyba’s 17-yard run. Both Sweetwater scores came before the teams went to a 12-minute live quarter that resulted in a 0-0 tie.
Lake View’s offense pro-duced 358 yards during the night and had several big plays, but Sweetwater stymied the Chiefs’ offense each time they threatened to score again after the early TD. An incompletion ended the next drive that reached Sweetwater’s 23, and two sacks thwarted Lake View after it had driven to the Mustang 16. Sweetwater got to the Chiefs’ 19 on its first series before stalling, but Walker later scored after a 44-yard pass to Malcom Black set up the TD.
Sweetwater had 364 yards in all, and moved the chains consistently while overcom-ing penalties and poor field position in the live quarter when it started from the 8. Sweetwater drove from there all the way to Lake View’s 25, only to cough up a fumble. Lake View then drove from there to Sweet-water’s 21, but the drive ended on an interception by Walker.
“It was a way better effort tonight,” said coach Craig Slaughter, who was pleased with the play on both sides. “I was nervous this week, but the kids got rewarded for their hard work. I’m thrilled to death for them.”
The sub-varsity teams both won their scrimmages Friday. Sweetwater’s JV had a 2-0 edge over Lake View, scoring on a 1-yard sneak by quarterback Kaleb Hoover and a 50-yard pass to Nick Nemir, while the freshmen on 1-0 as Deandre Gatson completed a 30-yard pass to Greg Aiken. The freshmen and JV will host Vernon to begin their seasons on Thursday at 5 and 6:30 p.m., respectively.

Re: 8-20-2010 San Angelo Lakeview Scrimmage
at about 2:25 what happened on the long pass?
I think my favorite part is the lead block at about 2:33 or so I think it was the next play after the long pass where we scored. The lead runner had a good run and extended like he was hitting a blocking sled. great block. wish I knew who it was tho

Re: Scrimmage Video
Well, ya see.....the long pass, I didn't know how to do it. I wanted to zoom in on Malcolm Black catching the ball, but I still wanted him celebrating the great play, so.....I pieced it together so that I could zoom. Otherwise it didn't zoom in time and was focused on him jumping and the team hooting and hollaring.
The block that you like, I am pretty sure that it was Ryan Linebaugh. Not 100% sure, but looks like it with the black ankle braces.
We had the sound of the video and the song....and it sounded good with "Headstrong" and youtube didn't like it. The first time, we also had "Indistructible" on it with the game sound too.

I think you will like what I did to it. it's not a major change, but it sounds different. and since I do music videos this is a way of getting different material out there. I'd be doing this type of stuff if my audio recorder was better.
let me megaupload you a different video so you can download it and see which you prefer

Other than the sun which that happens at away games, nothing you can do about that. other than that I am liking it. I love having extra content and people participating here. The videos are really good for not having much experience you are doing well. like this one I only had the one complaint which was the long pass where it cut away and then came back. My favorite part is you have so many angles. I love how it went from on the field to a high angle very nice

Well thanks. I just wanted to get your opinion. As I said, you are way more experienced than I am. And we are enjoying it for sure. We might miss part of the game behind the camera, but we can catch it when we watch it on the screen at home. Haha!
